Bay Rum Essential Oil HISTORY The well known hair tonic called "bay rum" is made by distilling rum with the leaves of this tree which is native to the West Indies and cultivated in Venezuela, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean islands. Not to be confused with sweet bay bay (lauris nobilis) USES West Indian bay oil has antiseptic properties and it has been traditionally recommended for a variety of skin infections. lt is also considered useful for for hair and scalp problems, including dandruff and itching. It is a popular ingredient in many male fragrance products, including aftershaves and lotions. BLENDS WELL WITH: Cedarwood, Coriander, Eucalyptus, Geranium, Ginger, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon, Orange, Rose, Rosemary, Thyme and Ylang-ylang.
