It has very powerful antiseptic, fungicidal and anti-seborrheic properties, and helps with dandruff, hair loss and oily hair. Consumers will also see it in men's toiletries, acne preparations, and in products formulated to relieve muscle and joint pain.

Important Note Cedarwood (Virginian) Oil contains 20% Cedrol which may cause the oil to crystallize over time. The melting point of Cedrol is 86 Celsius. By gently heating the oil, the cedrol liquefies and its solubility is improved for a period of time. It may re-crystallize again in cooler temperatures.

History Cedarwood Virginian is an important ornamental and timber tree of eastern North America whose fragrant wood is made into cabinets, fence posts, and pencils. Used by native North American Indians to treat respiratory infections, a decoction of the leaves, bark, twigs and fruits was said to help with rheumatism, arthritis, skin rashes, and kidney infections.

Cautions Non-toxic but may irritate sensitive skin.. Avoid during pregnancy

This oil can become thick or solid at lower temperatures, and may need
to sit in a double-boiler for a few hours to become a workable
consistency. This is due to the naturally occuring cedrol content, which
has a solid crystalline structure. It's melting point is 86 degrees F.
